Sept ans avant Rise Above, Inspiration est la première version du Brother Jacques Project, emmené par le saxophoniste Jacques Schwarz-Bart, avec Stephanie McKay (vcls), Terreon Gully, Johnathan Maron et Jason Lindner. Sur Home, c'est la bassiste Me'Shell Ndegeocello qui prend le relais accompagnée de Gene Lake et Federico Peña.
